G'day Descent crew, I wanna put it out there n ask for your advice/guidance.First things first. I live and work in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Whilst I love living here, it's also at the far end of the planet. When I buy board games (usually shipped from the USA) I pay postage equivalent to, if not more, than the game retails for. There's only a small handful of foreigners here, and none of them are into board games so I'm truly a solo game player. Co-ops fit the bill nicely. Arkham Horror, Eldritch Horror, Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective (great game, and a true solo experience), yep, all great fun. And from what I've looked into, the 3 D&D board games and Gears of War seem to be worth getting, and I'm happy to pay the cash to get them. I'm also waiting on my Kickstarter copy of Machina Arcana to arrive. I wish I had a few mates here to play my copy of HeroQuest (now that was a fun time).
But I've always had my eye on Descent. I love a good dungeon crawl and having watched endless reviews of this game I feel like I'm missing out. The one and only reason I haven't forked out the crazy amount of dollars to get a copy of Descent to my table is because it can't be played solo. Or is that all about to change with Descent Game Night kits (Forgotten Souls to begin with)? I only know the very little I read about it I've read on FFG's site. And today I found this right here on BGG:

Both posts have got me a bit fired up that there may just be the opportunity to own this game and to be able to fully enjoy it solo.
So my question is, do you see Descent becoming a game that will be able to be played like the ones I've mentioned, and therefore worth me investing money in, or should I leave it alone and go for other crawlers which I already know I can open and play right out of the box solo?
A penny for your thoughts. Cheers.
