What do you think about them? Are you just interested in the idea or did you already decide to buy them?At first I was very optimistic about these collections. Then I read into what they bring to the table and seeing their price-point. Now I wished FFG had approached this thing from a different perspective. My problem isn't that I wouldn't spend 36$ for just heroes and monsters (I think I would even spend more), my problem is that I have so little choice. In every one of the different collections there is one cool monstergroup and one fairly interesting hero, but the rest that comes with the box is forgetable in my pov. This way investing 70$ for 2-3 good monstergroups seems unreasonable to me.
So for me these boxes make little sense. They are only 3 dollars less than a small expansion (which comes with new classes, overlord cards, gameboard) and they come with one interesting monstergroup and one fairly interesting hero as well.
I really am unsure if I'm going to buy even one of these collections, while I'm pretty sure I would've spent 10$ per monstergroup + hero to a total of 40-60$, if I could pick only the ones I like. I just wish they had approached this thing more like they did with the lieutenant-packs, because then I would give them my money with joy and no regrets.
Right now going for the Nerekhall expansion only for the monsters seems like a better idea to me than going for the collections and seems kind of wrong.
So what do you guys think?
