Progress on the Ettin so far. I've only painted a few minies before, this is the largest by far. My buddy let me borrow a few extra tubes he had of the Secret Weapon Washes, and i had planned to use nothing but that for the entire model.
Overall they're pretty nice, but im not 100% happy with how his skin came out by just using the wash on it. The Flesh Wash came out fairly blotchy after 2 coats (looks better in the pic than in person) and i don't really know how to fix it other than head down to the hobby shop and pick up some flesh based color. I do like how it really got down into the recesses though. The red was just a citidal paint i picked up, and now looking at it with a fresh eye, it needs a wash over top the loincloth and scarf. Fur was done with a Dark Sepia wash, which really left the white primer poking through the high areas, so i thinned out some Ployscale Dirt i had laying around with my train stuff and painted over the top of it to brown it out. Same was done to the head horns, but looks like they need a thin wash on top too.
thanks for looking and any ideas to make it better are greatly appreciated.
