As I was reading through the campaign rules with my breakfast cereal this morning, I noticed something I had missed before. We have been playing through the quests in order, without having the winners pick the next quest. This isn't a deal breaker, as we are on the third quest, and could just move on to the Interlude next, but it raises an interesting question.I'd like to get as much mileage as possible out of the game, and would prefer to get the other two Act I quests in, particularly the Masquerade Ball which sounds like a lot of fun. Would it screw up game balance too much if we played through all five Act I quests, and the corresponding five Act 2 quests as well?
I should note that it is a 3 hero game, and I as the Overlord haven't won any quest yet at this point. Another issue: I missed the rule about having access to only a few items in the shop between quests, and thus my players have cherry picked what are likely the most useful items from the Act 1 deck. I really don't mind to lose every game, as long as the group has fun, but I do want to challenge the players. I've purchased the Merrick Farrow lieutenant pack and hope to use the plot deck tonight, which should help.
Any advice from Descent experts would be appreciated. We love the game, and I am having fun painting all the minis. Thanks in advance for your help!
