So I just bought Descent from CSI though I have not received it yet. My one major question is about bringing in other monsters into the game.lieutenants aside, what is the point of getting monsters that are not in the core box, such as the Descent 1 upgrade kit? From my research, each mission in the game tells you exactly what monsters the OL can employ. If that is true, what are the monsters not in the missions used for? Why upgrade what you can not use? I know I have to be missing something...
Also, why pick up a Descent expansion at the same time as the base game? Sure, you can use the characters and the secret room thingy, but non of the monsters. That seems like a large expense for a very limited use until you complete the core adventure and move to an expansion. In another thread someone said you must buy an expansion with the base game to get so much more out of Descent.... get so much more... what... before you migrate to the expansion?
