I'm starting a new Descent campaign (SoN) tonight, and for once I get to play as one of the heroes, so I've been thinking about what classes I want to use. In particular, I was wondering about what AoE attacker I wanted to use. Typically, I use (or, most often, recommend the heroes to use) the Runemaster since he can gain a blast ability immediately, but I'd like to branch out this time. I don't like the classes like necromancer or geomancer as much because while they have blast abilities, they require way more set up (summoning a familiar, moving the familiar into place, then destroying the familiar, which will then need to be resummoned again). I don't want to use the Beserker (his spinning fists ability, or whatever it's called) because I'm already locked in on using the Beastmaster, and I want to have one hero per type.Any suggestions? I own the base game (obviously), LotW, LoR, and SoN, so ideally it'd be best to narrow the discussion to those I'd have access to (though if you want to broaden the discussion, go ahead and open it up).
