I find I just don't have the time to create adventures to run campaigns anymore and I want to get my kids into the idea of campaigns... Descent takes away the RP ... leaves the crunchy fighting part ... awesome.

I'm wondering what it takes to make a successful party I'll playing the OL ... but the family (wife + 11 & 9 year old daughters) I will not be looking to "Win" as much as "Make it hard for them but not impossible" (Much like a DM ... I want them to have fun ... not get frustrated) as they gain in power and steam roll me then I"ll play harder.

That being said they are ALL going to want to play girls which I hear the Crusade of the Forgotten is the way to go.

My question is ... can you build successful parties with all ranged types (Mages / Archers etc) or all agile dodgey types? Or is it best to build a party around D&D parties ... a up front damage taker, some sort of damage dealer, and some sort of magey type (I don't think this game has clerics / healers does it?)

Advice would be great ... especially if it comes with a heroes and monsters or something that has a good example of a female hero who can fill the role
