Hello! I decided to duplicate this thread https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1434797/price-power-can-ove... since it seems that much more people visit this forum.
I now play a campaign as overlord, and yesterday we played the Price of Power quest where I used the Armor of Darkness card from the Alric Farrow plot deck to add two points to a defense throw when a hero attacked a ritual stone. Heroes however did not agree I was allowed do this, since it is not stated that the ritual stone is considered a monster for this purpose. The exact wording of the card: "exhaust this card when a monster is attacked..." We had two conflicting opinions about this:
1) Heroes said that rules do not specify anywhere that I could use a combat card on a ritual stone, while they specificially state that an ironbound may use his "protect" ability to protect it.
2) My opinion was that since the quest rules do state that a hero may attack a ritual stone as if it were a monster, then, at this particular moment it is considered a monster and therefore I may use any card supposed to defend a monster.
We decided to submit this question to FFG, since the outcome of this quest depends on this issue. However, it should take some time before FFG respond, so we decided to also put up this issue here.
We would be glad to learn your thoughts on this.
