Thread: Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition):: General:: Sorting for quick play, 3D printed trays or similar

Descent is a great game and my group really enjoys it (RtL full coop for us) but it can be somewhat cumbersome to bring to the table so I am continuously looking to reduce the setup time.

I already have the minis in Feldherr foam and dice/tokens in plastic sorting boxes to lift straight to the table. I have the board elements in a document storage case with dividers, sorted by numbers and/or expansion for easy locating and the small ends/joiners etc. in a box on the side.

Now I just need to find a smart solution for the cards, but it seems I need to make a choice between storage and on-table card tray. Ideally I would have a box/tray - where the cards are stored - that lifts straight from the game box to the table but still with the card backs/fronts visible (especially conditions cards and search cards) but most storage boxes are close-fit boxes where you need to take out the cards to see and use them.

Does anyone have an idea as to how to solve this major problem in my life?

BTW: I recently bought a 3D printer, so any printable solution will also do
