After watching a few Youtube videos and reading the rulebook that comes with the Road to Legend app, I just ordered 2e Descent from Amazon and am eagerly awaiting its arrival to play with my 2 kids. We'll be using Road to Legend to play co-operatively.

I've trawled this board for wisdom over the last few days, and have gathered that:

* Descent is designed to be difficult. Heroes should not expect to win more than 50% of games, even in a co-operative mode. The Rise of all Goblins quest is surprisingly hard for an 'introductory' adventure. We shouldn't expect it to be easy;

* Using stamina to move characters (and thus attack twice per round) is crucial to successfully playing heroes.

* Characters with familiars/pets are especially effective against RtL's AI (moreso than they would be against a human Overlord)

*Some characters (and monsters) are considered much more powerful than others.

With that said, I would appreciate any pointers that more experienced players would like to throw my way, especially as they relate to the RtL app.

As a separate issue, I'm aware that Imperial Assault is (in some ways) a Star Wars version of Descent. I think my kids might enjoy that too, so I'd appreciate thoughts on how the two games might differ both in play and commercially (ie. how much I'll spend on each game).
