Hi everyone! Erik here. During the last months I've been working with Sadgit and some other talented users of our community developing a Descent: Journeys in the Dark expansion named Sands of the Past.

This is a second teaser on some of the content of that expansion: a new Healer hero on a quest for redemption and a new Healer class that revolves around a familiar.

And here is the link to Preview #1.

Beacon of Piety

Elga the Pilgrim is determined to make up for her family's death, and brings to the battlefield a spark of stern resolve.

Her Hero Ability asks her to be close to her allies, taking care of them in the midst of the battle while smiting the vile lord's minions with hero own hands.

But when the dark tide rises and seems to be overwhelming, her Heroic Feat may save the day before all is lost, dissipating a death blow into a harmless gust of wind.

Stay close to her, and you will be fine. More so if she dons the vests of a Hierophant.

This hero was originally designed by user rdh174 at the FFG board.

[hr]Serve the Gods

The Hierophant is a high priestess or priest, often an advisor for the Caliph or for another regal figure, but never a lackey of them. Hierophant's only master is the god she devoted her life to, and in Al-Kalim the deity Atar represents both the life-giving aspect of the sun and its smiting, scorching power.

The Hierophant is an expert of death rites: she can magically embalm and anoint a corpse to serve and protect her and her allies. Unlike most other healers, the Hierophant is not specialized into restoring health, but her damage prevention skills make the lack of healing a minimal setback.

The Bandaged Servant is a mobile bastion that soaks up damage and, as the Hierophant gains new skills, can provide condition dampening and removal, attribute enhancing, dice reroll, fatigue recovery, and additional actions.

But if things get dire and someone falls under the assault of your enemies, her promise to serve the Sun is not fulfilled with her demise, and she can bring herself and her companions back from the death's door.
