It kind of dawned on me that this text appears for conditions on monster cards and Blessed Strike for Disciple.The only literal interpretation I can get from this is that these things only trigger if more hearts are rolled than shields. Meaning, damage from surges cannot help apply these effects.
That doesn't seem right at all. Damage isn't even dealt in the "after rolling dice" step. And dice are rolled at the same time so it's not accounting for a situation where a player may think they only have to roll 1 heart for the condition to apply.
I'm just confused on what this text clarifies? Most conditions are applied through surges anyways, so surely damage from surges can push you over the shield threshold to apply the condition. I just feel like the text should "after this attack is resolved, if 1 heart was dealt" or "after spending surges if 1 heart was dealt."
