Do the scenarios somehow make a defeat more impactful? Are the scenarios essentially on a tight deadline so that losing a turn could be very costly?
Is there mechanical tension (outside of the role-playing facet of getting defeated)?
Imperial Assault has the possibility of player elimination, and also has scenarios where wounding every character results in a victory for the Imperial/overlord player. It also has tight deadlines. Does Descent use any of these tricks?
I’m debating on whether or not to sell my (largelt unopened) collection, but will keep it in a heartbeat if it offers fun, tense gameplay.
Any advice would help. And sorry for so many questions. Thanks!
