Hello.I'm considering buying another expansion for this game for the sake of buying something cool with miniatures to paint. I'm saying this because for the 6 years I've had the game, it hasn't seen much table time - I've just managed to complete the Shadow Rune campaign once and started a couple of other campaigns. I already have the Lair of the Wyrm, Manor of Ravens and Shadows of Nerekhallexpansions (I also have Heirs of Blood stand-alone book), but am considering getting another one - Labyrinth of Ruin or either Mists or Chains that Rust. However, because how often the game is actually played, I'm trying to weight the pros and cons to make a decision. Basically, I think that I'm trying to talk myself out of buying another expansion since -- considering how often I get to play Descent -- 3 large campaigns and two min-campaigns, with a selection of 16 monsters and heroes should be enough for the foreseeable future. I'm trying to curb down on my game hoarding.
I've read many online threads about the available campaigns and I feel I've reached a point where I can't find anything new about the game; however, these threads are pretty old now.
I'm curious what more can be added to the discussion since (new) people must have played through the campaigns multiple times now. Could you share your thoughts and opinions about the expansions and their respective campaigns? How did the quest design change? Any issues with balance in LoR or Mists/Chains? How did you subjectively enjoy the story/quests? How does LoR or Mists/Chains compare to the core campaings and Shadows of Nerekhall?
In short and in very simple terms: would you be so kind to "rank" the expansions and explain why you rank them the way you do?
