Inspired by the awesome work of Universal Head (www.orderofgamers.com), I made my first foam core insert introducing some changes in the distribution and a couple of very cool tricks.
I’ve learned so much with this project but I made some mistakes, sorry about them.

1. MAIN BOX

The main box is exactly as the original, with the big compartment for the map tiles and the little one for the big monsters of the game.

2. FIGURE TRAY

In the figure tray I started to introduce some changes, rearranging almost the whole distribution of this tray:

- To me the important thing was having the connector tiles and endcaps separated from the map tiles and giving them an appropriate compartment near the doors.

- I got some extra room with two little changes: placing the Barghests a little diagonally and arranging the spiders in a perpendicular compartment.

- I relocated the Hero Tokens from the token tray to this tray by giving them a space nearby the Heroes figures.

- I reduced the two original Hero spaces to only one, fitting all the figures smoothly. But it’s a pity that Syndrael and Avric Albright have to be placed lying down due to just a couple of millimeters.

- I used different heights for the figure separators in order to recycle some foam and to reduce some (little) weight of the box.

3. COUNTER & CARD TRAY

In this tray I changed almost the whole distribution of the original tray and introduced a couple of very cool tricks.

- For me was important to use this foam insert to make the set up of the game quicker, so I placed the more frequently used tokens (condition, fatigue and damage) in the low part of the tray.

- I’m using the Hero Sheet box as a dice tray too. Speaking of the Hero Sheet Box, I introduced a cool trick invented by myself, a little tab to be pulled that eases grabbing the sheets.

- The other components are relocated as you can see in the pictures. The main idea was to place close together card and tokens that have relations (search cards & search tokens, monster/lieutenant cards & lieutenant tokens and villager & objective tokens).

- The other trick I introduced is sort of a slide made of cardboard I’ve seen in some other foam core inserts. It’s very useful and eases taking the tokens out of their boxes.

Thanks again to Universal Head for the wonderful work and for sharing incredibly well done and explained plans.

Albert
