Thread: Descent: Journeys in the Dark (second edition):: General:: The pains of attacking a "space containing a monster" (Fire Breath and Blast)

Our overlord was really rather frustrated last game when playing a Shadow Dragon, he hated needing to have to "attack a space containing a monster (read: hero)", mainly because he felt his dragon should be able to target any adjacent space and just flame out (if he rolled a surge) to any heroes within range. "Why would a dragon wait to breath flame until he was right next to a hero?!?" he complained, quite loudly.

I myself have found frustration with this change from 1st Ed whenever I play a figure that has a Blast ability. Since there are only Blast "1" in the game (i.e. one square, no two+ squares), and since you must target a "space containing a monster", I've found Blast to be rarely used, if at all, in our games, since the OL keeps his monsters one space away, or the heroes space themselves out nicely, etc.

Anyone else found issues with the must target space with figure in it?
