Assuming there's an upcoming 3rd edition..If FFG decided to join:
-Frosthaven
-Gloomhaven
-Lord of the rings: Journeys in the middle earth
-Middara
-Etherfield
-Tainted Grail
-Stormsunder: Heirs of Ruin
In the sense of releasing a product without a gamemode, in which you can face opposing intelligence in exciting pvp campaigns.. would you be interested?
This would mean, Descent would not stay true to 2nd edition. Instead it would go in the direction of every single major dungeon crawler in the last 4 years that are puzzle mode only, which tap from that critical mass of consumers hyperactive here in BGG and that seem to never get tired of going all-in in more of the same (just read the above list.. each featuring dozens or hundreds of hours of puzzle)
So, would you get in Descent 3rd if it's puzzle mode only? (solo / "co-op")
