Thread: Descent: Journeys in the Dark (second edition):: General:: Bare Hands Attack Use?

"A hero attacking with his bare hands can only target an adjacent space
and rolls only the blue attack die for his attack." (p. 12)

First off, what's the point? Don't basically all weapons give Blue + Red/Yellow die which > plain Blue. And since you can use Ranged weapons against adjacent, can't see it used here. Any monsters that can only be attacked in melee (or effects to that effect)?

Secondly, have you used or seen bare hands attack used? What were the circumstances?
