Reading though many threads on this forum and from my own group experience I begun to wonder about style of play different people can show.1. In my group at the beginning we (heroes) discuss aloud plan for the quest. And after beginning we discuss aloud what we think is best for present turn. We try not to talk ahead about forthcoming turns and about mistakes that we might made. But we don't have any secret informations. Sometimes when someone have some idea during overlord's turn he waits until hero's turn to say it. Do you play similarly? Do you have secret informations?
2. We play long. I mean looooong. We take our time
both heroes and overlord. We like to consider all possibilities before choosing the best.
Sometimes it is tiering. Some from our group exaggerate and cannot change it. Actually, we are considering introduction of time limits to the game to make it smother. Right now it is 80% planning and 20% doing. What is your experience?
3. Lately we had a fight during the game. One of us literally exploded. He couldn't stand that he is told what to do. We were surprised because he is very quite guy. He doesn't talk much and even when asked, he hardly give any opinion. He usually say something like "I will do what the majority decides". He doesn't say much so it looks like we decide for him, but I don't agree on that. No one takes his figure and makes something for him. It is he.
Many times other players wanted me to do something which I didn't considered to be the best thing to do. So I did what I wanted. Even rulebook have rules covering situations when heroes cannot reach an agreement. Our fiend always do what we want him to do (and then he is angry). Do you have such problems?
