My group have been playing Descent on and off for a while now, with me playing as one of the Heroes each campaign.
Recently we started a campaign but on the second session the OL (girlfriend) decided she had better things to do (anything other than board games) so I was nominated to take the reigns.

I immediately found out that playing as the OL is tough! Making mistakes is a lot less forgiving and you really need to pay attention to how the board develops. The first few encounters were very frustrating as the Heroes had acquired runes which meant they were rolling three dice an attack. My minion monsters were also permanently stunned for the most part by Ashrian.

However when the interlude came I was able to challenge them. I managed to grab the casket with the baron and make a mad dash to the exit. Unfortunately two of the heroes were able to catch up and foil my plans but it was tense.

We are now part way through the act two quest where Alric Farrow needs to take the blade. Before we stopped playing I had downed one of the heroes and taken the blade. The Heroes are now going to lay down some serious hurt to get it back but if I survive I should be able to run away and put monsters between us! devil

Have any of you found you prefer being the villain? If so have you got a memorable moment playing as the OL to share?

Thanks for reading.
