I've had Descent 2.0 for about a year now and haven't yet gotten to play a campaign. It looks like in the near future we will though... and I am extremely excited! Plus my girlfriend, user kim bo bim (check out her work on her user page!) painted all the minis and they look incredible!
I do have a couple questions though, maybe for more experienced players in Overlord roles, and players with more experience with Descent 2.0 in general.
1) Should we go ahead with just the base game? I understand there are three expansions released so far.. do any of them add must-use game mechanics to "The Shadow Rune" campaign? Since this has been such a long time in the making... I want to make sure it is as fun as possible.
2) Is there any advice that is pertinent for me to know as the OVerlord, to make the game the most fun for the heroes, while still keeping it a decent challenge? The players who are interested in playing the heroes are all experienced gamers and some are former tabletop players.
