I love Descent. I really do. Until now, I had been storing all of my map tiles in the Labyrinth of Ruin box, and all the other components in various plastic bags in the base game box. This works well enough for getting the game from place to place, but it's super difficult to find all of the various cardboard tokens you need to set up any given quest. So I took a trip to The Container Store, which is scary the same way Ikea is scary. (I thought an hour in the parking meter would be enough. Nope!) For about $30, I managed a satisfying storage solution.
I used:
Medium Smart Storage System Tote x 1: $12
Smart Storage Handled Tray x 1: $6
Small Smart Store Inserts x 1: $7
27-Compartment Box x 1: $7.50
----------------------------------------------
Total: $32.50

A couple of notes:
* I own Lair of the Wyrm and Labyrinth of Ruin, and all of the components for each fit very comfortably. I've preordered Trollfens from my FLGS, and there's plenty of room for those components as well.
* I'm not sure if there's room for another big box expansion.
* The map tiles have to be placed strategically to get them to fit nicely.
* The exact configuration of the containers and inserts is highly customizable.
* I'm still stuck using plastic bags for the various oversized cardboard tokens and cards.
* I'm also an X-wing Miniatures fan, and I implemented a very similar solution for my X-wings. Maybe I'll write a similar article over in those forums.
