Hello, I am new to baordgamegeek.com, but not to board games.
I am a huge fan of Descent 2nd edition, as are many of my friends who I play with regularily. We have played several campaigns, as well as many one offs, with the epic play. I have every figure from Descent 1e(+conversion kit).
My question for other regular Descent 2e players is this, has anyone else found the epic play variant to be way overpowered in favor of the heroes?
It is our experience that with the heroes receiving 3xp each as well as 150 gold per hero(we usually play 4 heroes), that the OL getting just 4xp toward OL cards doesn't even come close to balanced. 90%
(or even more) of the time the heroes absolutely trounce our OL.
My second question would be, what could be some good house rules to maybe help balance epic play? Like more xp for the OL, or perhaps allowing the use of a plot deck with some threat to spend!?
Thanks ahead of time for the opinions.
