Thread: Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition):: General:: Heroes being too Overpowered

Hello Geeks,

so we have finally started with Descent in my group and right after 1st session player that is playing for OL is complaining that Heroes are too OP.
After "tutorial" scenario, heroes (3 Heroes) gathered enough gold to buy items that grands hero Surge once per turn (exhaust). We gave it to our Mage,Runemaster. He also bought (for 1.exp, we have received after tutorial scenario) card that gives him Blast - for one Surge. And you see the combo. He has AoE attack once per turn. And this was destroying OL forces.
Not even mentioning AoE stun that Druid has .. We have played A Fat Goblin, and I must say OL had no chance. OL didnt roll bad or something, he just couldnt stop us.

1) collecting crops went 3:1 in Heroes favor (even that one we could have, but missed it for some communication issues ..).
2) freeing Frederic and slaying Fat goblin was like walk in the park

OL have updated his deck with one 1st level card after tutorial scenario and took one away, he was aware how monsters work, what abilities they have .. but still couldnt do anything.

So question is, are all scenarios in favor of Heroes?

(I have read some topic here " how to play OL " with 20) points that should OL fallow, but even tho, it seems to me that OL is pulling shorter rope in this game.
