Thread: Descent: Journeys in the Dark (second edition):: General:: Any reason for experienced players not to skip First Blood in a campaign?

So I know the campaign instructs you to play First Blood at the start of a new campaign, my question is, is there any reason to?

I've just been skipping the quest, giving 1 XP to each side, giving the heroes 4 search tokens worth of cards, and letting the Overlord choose the 1st quest. Basically my reasoning is since winning is meaningless, the heroes would just kill enough goblins to prolong the quest for enough time for them to grab all 4 search tokens, while the Overlord runs his goblins off the map. I think it would actually be very possible for the heroes to get all 4 tokens and win the quest, but I don't think it is worth playing just for the right to choose the next quest to find out.

Any reason not to do this with experienced players?
