Could you help me in "redesigning" (changing) the game in a way that it is much easier for the heroes to win?

I had multiple ideas, but I am not that familiar with the rules, I thought maybe you could help me out.

The goal is to play through all of the scenarios (each of them) and the heroes should win all of them. I am going to play the GM/DM and I can hold my punches if I need to, but if we could tweak the rules in a way that the heroes definitely have an advantage that would be even better.

My initial idea was to just hand out more equipment, which might make the game easier for the first few scenarios, but wouldn't really help with the more advanced ones (I think).

Could you also recommend a four player hero setup? Which are the most powerful, especially if the group plays well together as a group?

And another thing. Should we (and by we I mean I) learn the community rules update? The game seems to play just fine without it, out of the box.
