Thread: Descent: Journeys in the Dark (second edition):: General:: Opinions on "Reinforce" and "Immobilize"

We just played "Dawnblade" in 2 players (but 3 heroes).

Encounter 1 went smooth, very balanced, very interesting and finally won by the heroes (mainly because one of the heroes was Steelhorns and with his final move/special action he pushed the monsters around and reached the tomb).

Encounter 2 was strange. Heroes were immediately able to immobilize Sir Alric thanks to Runemaster's ability allowing to give one condition.

On turn 3, however, "Reinforce" card caused a/the Shadow Dragon to appear close to the exit, causing an immediate win for the heroes.

Any thoughts on this two phenomena?

On one side, Immobilize seems to be by far the most useful condition, effectively making any monster/liutenant without range attacks useless.

On the other hand, Reinforce totally skews a quest like this.

Does this relate to your experience?
