I'm not wanting to open old wounds here and rehash all that has been said about the LOS RAW.Most of what I've read about LOS can be condensed to this. The corner to corner LOS is simpler to work out than centre to centre LOS even though it is counter intuitive, at times.
My personal belief is that: yes, determining the centre can be problematic at times. However, there were better alternatives to the corner to corner LOS that were just as simple.
Determining LOS as being able to draw a straight, uninterrupted line between any point inside the source square to any point inside the target square would have been just as easy to determine and, I believe, would have been more popular choice.
Why would the designers have decided against an easy and more logical choice?
