Almost every miniature created for this and its 1st-edition cousin I have in my possession, painted. In play, the game looks absolutely gorgeous ... until I have to place a stupid counter out there that is supposed to represent something cool. I eyed a photo by user Mark Chaplin (yugblad) and I realized that I'm probably not the only one with "token hatred". More on that below.Let's identify all the tokens so far in 2nd edition and how we can substitute for them, or what you're already doing to substitute!
*I'd like to find the easiest substitution possible. So that means I'm aiming to find*:
1) readily-available figures on eBay or the like
2) pre-painted would be nice
3) round bases would be nice, to match the flavor of Descent

6 Lieutenant tokens
These go in and out of stock, and there's still three as of this writing that have yet to be released. But they are out there if you look hard enough. With these it's either a wait-and-see approach or just the matter of finding some proxies. I have them all except for the unreleased minis so I cannot comment on proxies.
8 Villager tokens
PLEASE MAKE A SUGGESTION! Nothing better than lugging a token around -- would love some great villager figures! Yugblad found these unidentified villagers to use, but I don't know where they're from and I would prefer to have them pre-painted if possible, and round-based. Any ideas?
Militia tokens
PLEASE MAKE A SUGGESTION! Yugblad used Warhammer Brettonian archers (pictured), but I feel like we could get something with a round base that looked more Descent-ish. There's got to be tons of options out there.
Reanimate Familiar token
PLEASE MAKE A SUGGESTION! This is a must to get, and very much improves and affects the game. I've been using an old Heroquest skeleton, but I'd like to have something that fits the look of Descent. What do you use?

1 Lieutenant token
Valyndra is a fire dragon with a large monster base. Until they release her official figure, proxying with previous Descent dragons is not too far of a stretch.
3 Summoned Stone Familiars
This is where I got the idea for this thread from, a photo posted by Yugblad and what he uses to replace these tokens. He uses Earth Elementals from Pathfinder Battles, Shattered Star set, pictured below.
