So we bought Descent 2.0 and have played only 4 or 5 times on the first encounter. My wife and I took turns being OL, and only ever had 2 heroes one of us controlled as the Hero side.
1. We both felt a little underwhelmed with the experience and I would like to ask you folks out there, Does the gameplay change all that much from the initial encounter (where goblins need to escape)?
2. Looking through the Quest Guide, it seems most maps are fairly small, and I know there is the whole campaign aspect where your character gets stronger, but it looks as it will be fairly repetitive, and then you basically just rinse and repeat?? Is this an accurate assumption?
3. Is there much more depth to the game that I am possibly missing being so new to it? I am asking myself, "So even when the characters get stronger, it just means a possible better weapon, potion, etc..." Is the idea of the campaign really the only major draw to this game?
All thoughts and perspectives appreciated in response.
We also might be interested in a trade down the road if it turns out this game just isn't for us.
