Hi!

As the title suggests, I would like to know if Descent 2.0 is really worth it for me.

I have both Claustrophobia(with expansion) and the DnD Adventure Game: Legend of Drizzt.

From reading here in the forums, I suppose Claustrophobia is probably the most similar to Descent. A bunch of heroes(more or less) vs an Overlord. The heroes have to complete an objective and the demon player must kill and/or stop them. The game also has a lot of scenarios, which we have not even all played yet. Great game.

Legend of Drizzt(LoD) is probably farther from Descent, because it's Co-Op only and there's no Overlord. But it's still a Dungeon Crawler with tiles and monster and all. A bit dry at times but still good.

What intrigues me about Descent are 3 things:

1. Campaign Mode: Stringing together scenarios to form a storyline sounds cool. And you get to keep your heroes.

2. Leveling-Up System: Well kind of, definitely not like a RPG but I find it interesting that your heroes(and the Overlord) slowly grow in power. Both LoD and Claustrophobia are lacking in this regard. Despite that 1 level-up in LoD your heroes only get weaker and weaker....And Claustrophobia has NO level-up mechanic at all.

3. Loot System: From what I've read heroes can aqcuire new weapons and the like. There is no such thing in Claustrophobia. And LoD is severley lacking in this regard.

My two main concerns regarding Descent are the following:

1. 2 Player Mode: I only have 1 gaming partner with whom I'd play this. Yes, I've read that it's playable and CAN be enjoyable. But playing 2-3 heroes sounds somewhat overwhelming. In Claustrophobia, you do the same, but there's not that much information to look after - it's pretty simple actually.

2. And this is basically my main concern and question: Is Descent 2.0 too similar to these games I already have? Do the points I made justify the 60€ prce tag(here in Germany)?

Thanks a lot for reading and any suggestions!
