OK, so originally I thought i might be doing this with two other people, which would be 3 total. Instead, it's probably just going to be me and my buddy. I see for 2 player, the manual recommends that the hero player choose 2 characters. Ive seen comments on here that the games works best with 4 or 5 players (ie, 4 heroes, 1 overlord).

Is it overkill to expect one player to play 4 heroes? It seems like it might be boring for overlord player, or too much for the hero player to do?

Another issue is the miniatures. Its fun to play with painted miniatures obviously. If we do 4 heroes than that means ALL the monsters get painted eventually...which is pricey. If my friend just uses 2 or 3 heroes, than I only have to get 1 Ettin painted (instead of 2), 1 Dragon painted (instead of 2), 3 spiders instead of 5, etc etc.

From a purely monetary standpoint, i think i prefer using 2 or 3 heroes, so i don't have to pay to get all the miniatures painted. But mostly i want a fun experience as well. If 2 hero's vs Overlord sucks, I don't want to do that.

Just curious on people who did 2 player game and what they think. If they did it again, would you do it with a different # of heroes?

Thanks,
Darren
